Will Save the Galaxy for Food By Yahtzee Croshaw

The trip was great with good story I can't out the book down I enjoy the story with the trip of space Great story enjoy the journey Will Save the Galaxy for Food But most of the characters were uite superficial Was uite hard to emphasize with any of them as none of them presents a strong background line or fall into a deep development beyond reactingPoor development of the secondary characters tooDespite all that it was a funny reading sometimes MP3 CD The book is fantastic takes no time at all to envelop you in its world Perfect exposition a master class in show don't tell if that's even possible in a bookIt's very clever at innovating with new twists on ideas that have come before and been done to death Could've easily tread the same old ground and suffered under the weight of the work it is inspired by but instead forges it's own identity As a stand alone story it is brilliant but I wouldn't mind a few stories from this universe that has been so masterfully createdI couldn't put it down finished in little over a day I will promptly be buying and reading the rest of Yhatzees work guides

Will

I really enjoyed this than I thought I would Memorable characters forward moving plot and a couple of twists make this a solid first entry into this cool little universeIf I had to relate it to anything it would be Douglas Adams crossed with those Space uest games from the 90's With Yahtzees own brand of dry wit sprinkled throughoutI can't plying wait to read the next one guides This book is very different to anything that ive read before that unlike most books its interesting and gets to the point It reads alot like a movie in that there is absolutely no filler scenes Ive read The Witcher books for example that have alot of scenes where characters just aren't doing very much and just standing around talking WSTGFF however has scenes and dialogue only where it is important to do so By the book being self standing each scene starts and ends with the reader being fulfilled and not WAITING for the next sceneOther than that of course i cant remember really where the humour was if any it was just a really solid story about a guy in a screwed up situationThe characters were few and memorable also; very good choicesA very good book by Ben having never read any of his previous one's because i thought starting later after he had had some experience would be good Gonna go back and read mogworld soon though Books like this are good for getting into reading it took a little while to like it but the unexpected story telling left me wanting the plot may not be for everyone but it's certainly worth a try While there are some good jokes in here and some very well written pieces I'm starting to get concerned that Mr Crowshaw saved all of his best writing for his first bookThe plot of this book revolves around an unknown war hero turned glorified tour bus driver being pulled into a world of criminals intrigue and threats from all sidesSadly this has been done better before and as the jokes fall a bit flat the story suffers tooThat's not to say that there is nothing redeemable here the combat scenes are well written the overall sorry is also fleshed out nicely but there's very little by way of character development we know only a little about the main character by the end than when we started and as to some of the secondary characters such as Ms Warden there's very little offered here to give any inclination of her drives or motives sometimes the characters outright change their stance mid chapter with no real reason for it it's described in the book as her character is methodical and forward planning but this came across as just a little lazy on the part of the writer using it as a catch all for any and all movements that the character makesAlso without giving anything away the ending felt a little flat and in my experience any story that ends with the reader thinking wait that's it Is not as well crafted as it could have beenI felt like the first half of this book was trying to make me like a set of characters I knew little about the second half had me hoping that all would end well for the characters I was now begrudgingly following and the ending left too much dangling that needed tying upBut I must admit I preferred this over his second novel and will no doubt purchase a fourth should it ever ariseAs a point in context here I should add that I do consider myself a fan of Mr Crowshaw's works as I've bought physical digital and audio copies of all three of his novels and I'm honestly waiting for the day we get another novel by the author to rival Mogworld Yahtzee Croshaw manages to though comedy tell a story that would likely fail in a serious setting Listening to him weekly on the Escapist did not prepare me for his rich world building and honest portrayal of a man adrift in a universes that he no longer recognises I highly recommend this book to sci fi fans and Yatzhee fans and stress how well his voice sells this book Do yourself a favour and purchase the audiobook guides
